Our Services
Therapeutic animal assisted 1-1 sessions (held at the farm)
1-1 sessions are led by Dave and Ewe staff facilitated through the child/young person's school or setting.
Observation and assessment during introductory visits inform the planning of the child's individual programme. This can link to the child's interest/motivators either directly with the animals or through jobs around the farm.
Sessions are also tailored to support specific needs as well as encompassing life skills and social, emotional and mental wellbeing
Sessions can be very non direct to support need such as attachment difficulties as all support can be focused through the animals
Therapeutic animal assisted group sessions (held at the farm)
Group sessions are assessed on the same basis as 1-1 sessions and dynamics of the group.
These sessions are less intensive around specific need although each session differentiates for individual need within the group.
The group work focuses on building skills to develop relationships, social skills and co operative skills to begin to work with others
When outcomes are looked at for the group key consideration is given to the goal of including specific animals, session logistics (e.g. duration and type of contact) and optimal animal characteristics
Other animal experiences
To ensure that the welfare of the animals at Dave and Ewe are always prioritised we no longer offer Alpaca walks or animal experiences due to the other work that the animals do within the therapeutic sessions
There are sometimes opportunities for weekend or school holiday sessions
