Wellbeing

Sessions with Dave and Ewe is a therapy first provision with all initial approaches delivered therapeutically through the animals. The focus on social and emotional aspects of learning are tailored to the individual needs and mental wellbeing of each child.

Animal assisted interventions foster emotional bonds that exist in human - animal relationships. This enables the sessions to work on self esteem, emotional regulation and confidence to build a foundation on which a wealth of other aspects of learning can then be taught.

Education

Dave and Ewe offers both 1-1 and group sessions to children and young people assisted by a range of animals.

The sessions teach children about animal care, life skills, decision making, problem solving and about themselves.

Animal assisted education provides opportunities to engage in real life experiences as a basis for learning. Observing and reflecting on these concrete experiences builds conceptual understanding.

Mission Statement

To protect animals, local ecology and historical record, whilst promoting and enhancing well-being, improving outcomes and making a positive difference to the lives of children, adults and their families; through the medium of therapeutic, nature-based activities.

Dave has been having my 2 girls come to him twice a week for a while now, he kindly gives them advice and teaches them independence, he teaches them respect, sees them for who they are , and guides them. Dave has been the reason both my girls have grew in confidence. My youngest doesn't normally like to engage with males but with Dave and his calming voice and the way he communicates with the girls she has taken to him from the get go. Dave has also been a great support for myself, when days have been hard with 2 children with additional needs, he always sees the positives, and has a listening ear. no situation for Dave is too much. He always finds a solution, nothing is to big or to small. My girls have and are learning a lot with Dave's input, about the animals as well as emotionally and socially. Which both girls take when not at the farm. i have seen such a big change already. I am very greatful for Dave's time and effort for us as a family. Highly recommended

I wish you could move to Surrey, you would be hugely popular but i know that land there is of a premium! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Our donation is just a little token of thanks, because no amount of money can really make up for the true cost and time you put in, but I hope it goes a little way to meeting few of the needs of the animals! All the best and we hope to see you soon. We will look up on the website to see updates.

A quick email to say a HUGE thank you for our Farm Experience. Luke can’t always show or articulate how he feels, but believe me, he absolutely loved his time on your farm, it’s all he’s talked about!! The work you do with both the animals and humans is an inspiration and so beneficial. I hope you manage to find a new home for Dave and Ewe and all your incredible animals. Take care!

Lovely visit for a group of 10 year old children, guided and encouraged by Dave to learn and interact with his farm animals, most of which are rescued. A great experience for the children and the adults alike.
